Where people usually go
- Volcanoes National Park — mountain gorilla trekking in the Virunga volcanoes, reached from Kigali in a morning.
- Nyungwe Forest — chimpanzees, colobus monkeys and the forest canopy walkway.
- Lake Kivu — a quiet few days on the water, often added after trekking.
- Kigali — the Genocide Memorial and the city itself, usually a night at each end.
Gorilla permits
Rwanda issues a limited number of gorilla permits each day through the Rwanda Development Board, and they cost more than the Ugandan permits. We will confirm the current price and availability for your dates in writing before you commit, and show the permit as a separate line on your quotation.
Before you book
Visa and entry requirements for Rwanda are decided by the Rwandan authorities. We will tell you what is normally required and point you to the official source — please confirm with them before you book your travel arrangements.
